The Eve # 33
This Eve is a monument to collective sorrow. She is not sculpted for pleasure, but for profound contemplation. "The Eve # 33" embodies the immense, sacrificial Maternal Grief shared by nations struggling for survival: the Ukrainian, the Chechen, the Georgian, the Syrian, and all peoples whose children have been consumed by war and genocide.
The Artist, rooted in Ukrainian culture, channels the profound archetype of the Mother (Mati). Her wrapped, bowed form is the physical act of absorbing unbearable loss. This sculpture holds the centuries of lament—from the sorrow of the Slavic ancestors to the immediate pain of the current war. The wood seems to fold inward, creating a sanctuary for the tears of generations.
She is the embodiment of Motherhood that has witnessed the worst of humanity. Her presence demands more than admiration; it demands recognition of the tragic cost of freedom. The custodian of this work must understand that they are taking responsibility for a piece of shared historical memory.
