The Eve # 11
There is a moment in Eden before the heat of the day, before the bite of the apple, before history begins. "The Eve # 11" captures this suspended second of pure potential. She emerges from the heart of a giant tree, and we are left to wonder: is she stepping out of the Tree of Knowledge, or is she simply greeting the first sun in the Cool Garden?
She is not separated from nature; she is the fruit of it. She is the Mystery of the Morning, the "Morning Joy" that knows no guilt. Her form is only half-revealed, suggesting that she is still part of the wood’s dream. As the German Romantic poet Joseph von Eichendorff wrote, capturing this sacred silence of the forest morning:
"O wonderful deep silence,
How lonely is the world as yet!
The forests only gently bow,
As if the Lord went through the field."
The Artist has created an ode to the Beginning. This Eve is the anticipation of a beautiful day, a promise that the world is still young, and the light has just begun to touch the leaves.
